Busy lately, not much time to bird, but got home a bit early today and was watching the Eastern Kingbirds and a W.W. Peewee in the garden when I realized one of the Kingbirds was brown and yellow... whoa! A Myiarchus flycatcher! Most likely Ash-throated! We had an Ash-throated in the neighbourhood for 6 weeks in the Fall of 2007.

I saw one in Ladner a few years ago. They are really fun to watch. They're incredibly active and noisy. Great bird.

Kevin, fantastic! Very exciting for you guys to have another one in your backyard. That is number four for the checklist area. Right when I updated our seasonal status checklist too...;D
I agree it's an Ash-throated. Nice work capturing the undertail and other features that set it apart from the other similar species.
Keep us posted on how long it sticks around.

I wonder if it is same one from 2007 back for a return visit? An ash-throated flycatcher is a nice find, Kevin. Thanks for posting the photos. Janne Perrin Harrison Hot Springs
