im in keremeos and im 99 percent i just had a blue gray gnatcatcher. it responded to my playback. ill confirm the id when i get home. it was seen along upper bench road just west of the narrow corners and a small pond filled with red winged blackbirds. maybe someone could pass this on to the interior site for me

Chris, good find! I cant imagine that any of the other species of gnatcatcher would show up here, but who knows and plus, the gnatcatchers can be tough little guys to tell apart. Cant wait to hear about your day when you get back.

Here are a few pictures of the bird. I have no idea what else it could be but a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher. Here is a map where the bird was. maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=49.202661,-119.764683&daddr=&hl=en&geocode=&mra=mift&mrsp=0&sz=18&sll=49.20285,-119.764039&sspn=0.001679,0.004801&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=18 I travelled west and parked near apond with a lot of Red-winged Blackbirds and about 50 metres from where I parked I saw it. I was admiring a Killdeer when heard a different noise.

Now that my brain is not in drive mode, I should have added that it was about 50 metres west of the small pond and the north side of the road.

Great find Chris. We had one up at Nakusp 4 or 5 years ago. There have been at least a couple of other B.C. sightings over the years in the Victoria area as well.
