Went for a check in the early evening. Encouraged by Kathy's report of local shorebird movement, I was hoping to find a solitary sandpiper even though I hadnt seen any yet at Cheam when they've been almost reliable last few summers. Enough warming up the subject...
Off the Loop Trail about 100 yds down, I found the first one feeding on the exposed pond weed (chara) beds. The second was at the beaver pond where they are usually found. On my way back around the one on the first section of the Loop Trail was still there.
A couple pictures.
Seemed to be a bit of movement among the little birds with a good mixed flock of yellow warblers, vireos and western tanagers.
