Took advantage of a cooler day to go for a walk over to Eagle Point Park, which mother nature is doing her best to reclaim! Didn't see anything terribly exciting, just what you would expect. Lots of activity around the Martin boxes but all Tree Swallows, didn't see any sign of the Martin, expect he is now one of those at Nicomen Slough.
Here is a list of what was over there:
White Crowned Sparrows including juvenile Robins, including juveniles Song Sparrows Barn Swallows (lots in the development) Chestnut backed Chickadee - seemed to be a family Tree Swallows - lots Cedar Wax Wings - could hear them but didn't see any Spotted Sandpiper - saw at least 3 plus one fledgling Red Wing Blackbirds - saw 4 or 5, not nearly as many as before Goldfinch - saw one male Brewer's Blackbird - one male Northern Rough Wing Swallows - saw a couple Yellow Warbler - just caught a glimpse of what looked like a family Bullock's Oriole - 2 males Common Yellow Throat - heard at least 2
Hopefully this weekend we'll get back out on the water for a more thorough look of the area.
