Hi All I went for a hike at Grant Narrows after work yesterday to one of the Towers. On the way back I came across a couple Pine Grosbeaks feeding on new tree buds. Got a few nice pics will attach them later tonight. Don't know if they are rare for that area, but I have never seen them. Both were beautifully coloured. Thought it was worth mentioning. Will give a recap of the birds seen in birding reports Cheers Martin Just uploaded pics. Enjoy The first time I spotted them up in the trees I rifled off a couple of quick burst about 30 pics. But as time went on they came down to feed and I got within a few feet. They sure demonstrated their almost domestic quality, seemed quite content and tame. Pic1 This is my favorite! Pic3

There was one in East Abbotsford last month, but they are seldom seen at this elevation, so good bird! Grant Narrows is such an incredible spot for seeing unusual species.

Nice find Martin. They are extremely interesting birds. Usually quite tame and rather unusual behavior.

Grant Narrows is a park in Pitt Meadows with a boat launch into Pitt Lake. It used to be a really great park but they cut one of the Dykes and closed the forest trail. Recently it has been given back to First Nations and they have been shooting the ducks right from the Dyke. The towers are a legacy from better days - you can still get to two of them - one near the entrance on the Pitt Lake Dyke and one at the end of the forested nature Dyke (best place to bird).
