Hello birders,
while driving my daughter around tonight in Harrison Mills, I managed to see a Long-eared Owl on a fence pole. Amazingly, the bird allowed me to drive right up, put a flashlight on it, and roll down the windows. I had about two minutes with the little guy until he decided to fly.
Cheers, Brent Schmor Harrison Mills

Brent, very nice! You just never know what you'll bump in to even at night. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent find Brent. I don't think there are many of those up this way. In fact that is the first one I have heard of in the upper Fraser Valley. I'll have to check the seasonal status list to see if I'm right.
