I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to view a Great Gray Owl in our region. This was on private property so the location unfortunately will not be given out. The bird sat contently on a blackberry bush the whole time while I observed it. I watched it for about ten minutes as I did not want to make the bird uncomfortable. It was a new species for me. It just goes to show that we live in a fabulous area and you never know what will be seen next. Here is a picture of the bird.

Great shot Chris! Finder's, Keepers. After the experience with the crowds around the owls in Delta, I think it's wise to limit location info on the public boards. What a magnificent bird!

Thank you all for the comments! It is a gorgeous bird. It had a presence to it that is hard to describe. I was very lucky to have this opportunity. I guess it makes up for the dozen or so times I missed out on the Rosy Finches. I was also lucky, since it was on someone else’s property, I didn’t have to make the choice whether or not to make the location of the owl known, the decision was made for me. Les good luck if you head out to Harrison tomorrow to find those Rosy Finches. I might have a hard time keeping track of Len, Les and Wes.
