Two days running Ive seen a Gyrfalcon, this time a grey adult, on Prest Road. Today, I saw it flying along not far from the ground, turn around and then circle over an area. Not typical behaviour for a species that hunts with strong direct flight depending on speed. Turns out a Red-tailed Hawk was perched on the ground, perhaps on food. The hawk flew up and the falcon chased it a little. I missed where they came very close together. They then went their separate ways. The next shot shows how big these Gyrfalcons are next to the Red-tailed Hawk. One last shot as it turned and headed off. There has been a lot of Gyrfalcons this year! Mind you, this could easily be one from Sumas.

Ken, it's been near McGuire Road. Thanks for asking as I forgot an important detail in my report. Good luck!
