We were sitting waiting the light on the west end of the Harrison Bridge this morning and noticed a pair of Tree swallows sitting on the standard holding the traffic light. All of a sudden one of the swallows popped into the end of the standard and a few seconds later, the other followed. Apparently the end of the metal standard is open, it appears to be about a 3 inch oval and it looks like this pair of swallows have decided it will make a suitable nesting site.

Safer up there instead of down low where the river's up high!
