Was up the Chilliwack River Valley a good part of the long weekend. Everywhere I went, especially anywhere above Tamihi Bridge and in areas with good amounts of conifers, I ran into singing Hammond's flycatchers. I was hard to stop someplace and not hear one! Also came across several singing male MacGillvray's warblers singing their "cherry cherry cherry sweet sweet sweet". They pished out, even for me! Be prepared for the mess and destruction though. This area is a destination for grad parties and weekend campers who seem to come to leave garbage, broken glass and hacked trees. Something needs to be done about this.
