After my absense of the last 10 days or so decided to walk over to Eaglepoint park this evening. It will be the last time until water levels recede as the trail is now flooded in a number of areas. There are Salmon fry swimming on the trail leading to the viewing platform and further along we had to do some 'bush whacking' to get around a the water on the trail that was 6 inches deep in places. Wanted to take a look and get some pictures for reporting on the website (fraservalleybaldeaglefestival.ca - Kathy's Korner). The lowest bird house in the cluster of Purple Martin houses that have been erected over there is now only about 4 inches above the water. Birds of note were lots of Bullock's Oriole, Spotted Sandpiper, Cedar Waxwing (first I've seen this season)....a pair of Wood Ducks and a pair of Canada Geese with 5 goslings.
Since water levels are still rising there won't be any birding over there for some time, except from our canoe.

Yikes!!!! Could you send me a pic of the martin boxes? I said they'd be in inches if not under water by the end of May!! I hope to get back out there to place them higher now that we can reach higher. Hope there isnt any tree swallows in that low box!
