Like any good husband, I help out around the house. (and not just because it facilitates a little birding time here and there or to pause during a trip into town to eye up a flock of seagulls) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
A while back, we got a free sample of some steam bag thing that, when you heat it up in the microwave, sends out a special steam to make cleaning the inside easier. It did work, but Im never excited to spend money if I can help it.
Im always skeptical that special steams and etc. are usually a fancy way to say water with just a bit of scent added to give a mystical smell. I put it to the test by boiling some water and vinegar for two minutes in the microwave. When I opened it up (with my face too close to the door) I was rewarded with a slight burning in the eyes to suggest that I too can make special cleaning steams. I wiped it out with a cloth and produced a good look-for-five-minutes-at-a-flock-of-gulls-on-our-way-to-Superstore shine. The inside was not very dirty (we use a cover) but it worked great all the same.
If you have not suspected it already, Im pleased with the discovery. ;D

Nothing like vinegar to keep the house shiny. Well done, Gordon and you earned that extra birding time. Janne Perrin Harrison Hot Springs
