Man, been very busy this weekend! Apologies for not updating the bird alert and joining in on a couple good threads like Ive been meaning to. Quickly though, the spring's first red-eyed vireos (2) were singing at Cheam Lake. There also was a great horned owl hooting at about 3 pm! This was on the creek trail. The robins were not happy. Yesterday, I saw a caspian tern at Island 22. I see terns, never in big numbers (5 was the most), every summer here for as long as I can remember. Wonder what they're up to. This was the earliest sighting ever. The previous early sighting was June 7.
