Fellow Birders:
Heard a WESTERN SCREECH OWL do its tremolo song this morning around 5:00 a.m. in my front yard, but I was too lazy to get up and have a look. For the past two years I have set up a Screech Owl nest box; once on my property, and facing north towards the Coquihalla River, and, this year across the river facing south. For some reason, I can't get the " little blighters " to use the box, and, yet, I hear one every spring, so they are obviously around. Thanks to Chris Charlesworth, I have actually seen a couple; one pair near Okanagan Falls, and a singelton in Kelowna. It would be nice, however, to see my own back yard bird owls!! Also, there are some BANK SWALLOWS, nesting in the soft rock, which comprises the north side of the Coquihalla River shoreline. Thor
