Bald Eagle dines on GBH chick

It was reported to me today that a Bald Eagle swooped down on the GBH nest situated in a tall WRC at Sasquatch Springs RV Resort and made off with the GBH chick. I wasn't aware the nest was active this year but will check into it this weekend and keep you posted. Two years ago a single pair of herons nested in this tree and successfully raised 2 chicks.

Good news in one respect, that the herons are nesting elsewhere and possibly will turn into another colony? Too bad the eagles got the chicks though this year.
