hello birders around 11:00 this morning i went to the kournossoff property on camp river road. there have been 2 ponds made here that should be good for shorebirds next year and for waterfowl this year once we get a good amount of rain. at the southeast corner there was a good size flock of sparrows with the following birds: 1 white-throated sparrow 20 or so white-crowned sparrow 8 golden-crowned sparrows 12 lincoln's sparrow 10 or so song sparrows 6 savannah sparrows there was also 9 american pipits here. on the way home there were 7 western meadowlarks on gibson rd. between maguire and prairie central. also, went to cheam lake wetlands but as brent reported in was really quiet, the only note worthy bird was a pacific-sloped flycatcher. cheers, jason ryder lake,bc
