Enjoyed a good study of a dusky flycatcher at Neilson Park in Mission today. This genra of flycathers are very difficult to identify and can cause the growth of grey hair. In other words, these birds take over from where my kids leave off.
The bird didnt sing, but called constantly. Im familiar with Hammond's flycatcher, so I had something to go with. Although looking and field marks is dangerous without a song to go with the bird, the field marks did work for the most part. Dark bill, long appearing tail etc.
Also saw yet another Myrtle race yellow-rumped warbler, orange- crowned warbler in the same tree.
