Good evening fellow birders. I seems the lower mainland emptied for a while this weekend! Marilyn and I headed to Westbank Saturday around 11 am and after some searching found the Little Blue Heron (it seems to move aroung to various beach areas but then returns to the mouth of Powers Creek. Met Chris Charlesworth there who wanted to see it again for photograps. We stayed in Kelowna overnight and this morning early we headed south to the Oliver area, to the Inkaneep Park. After a half hour of searching I found the Northren Parula. When heading back north from Oliver I ran into Dick Cannings who was bicking from Penticton to find the Parula. I notices on the Interior web that he also found it. What a fun and rewarding trip. One new Canada tick and two new BC ticks. I'm glad that many others are seeing these rarities, as is evident from the postings on this websire. Good birding, John Vooys
