Hi
Just spent a couple of days in the St. Louis area for a tradeshow. Our supplier arranged a couple of guides and a shuttle for us to do some birding tue & wed morning. Here's a list of birds we saw.
Killdeer
Mourning Dove
Turkey Vulture
Red-Tailed Hawk
Barred Owl
Yellow-billed Cuckoo
Belted Kingfisher
BC Chickadee
Tufted Titmouse
Pileated Woodpecker
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
Downy Woodpecker
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Yellow Shafted Flicker
Brown Creeper
Carolina Wren
Northern Mockingbird
Veery
Red-Winged Blackbird
Common Grackle
Blue Jay
Cardinal
Cedar Waxwings
Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Indigo Bunting
American Goldfinches
Lincoln's Sparrow
House Finch
Song Sparrow
Chipping Sparrow
White-crowned Sparrow
White-throated Sparrow
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Black-throated Blue warbler
Nashville Warbler
Kentucky Warbler
Yellow-breasted Chat
Red-eyed Warbler
Ruby-crowned Kinglet
For you Eurasian Tree Sparrow fans- we did not have time to go to the right area to see. Also next year their going to a lot one day for us to get out with a guide and track this one down. We were told they are expanding their range, and some nested in central missouri. ( Which is the actual area we were in.)
Also did some birding in the Grand Canyon area about three weeks ago. The weather was incredible hot, so birding was not that good. Here are a few bird's we saw. I did not list our common birds. Highlights were:
Golden Eagle (On a telephone Pole by road)
Loggerhead Shrike
American Dipper
Many Hawks (Migration over the canyon- just saw our common species)
That's all to report
Good Birding
