Hello birders,
Carolynn and I were up early and took a hike up to the bluffs at Mckee Peak, overlooking Sumas Prairie. Of the twenty species we saw, were one Townsend's Solitaire, one Red-breasted Sapsucker, and my first Orange-crowned Warblers of the year-5 +, as well as a couple of Turkey Vultures. Also,. we saw a number of signs that a bear was in the area. I guess it is time to be keeping a good eye out for hungry bruins.
Good birding,

Interesting how birds seem to appear in waves in different locations during migration. Pauline were walking up Sucker's Creek in Hope this morning, and saw a Townsend's Solitaire there too. Off to the airport for my run. I'm sure there will be a few new arrivals like Common Yellowthroat there as well. thor
