Fellow Birders:
I started off the day with a walk up Sucker's Creek in Hope. The birding activity seems to be increasing on a daily basis. Besides a lingering AMERICAN DIPPER, we saw the RED BREASTED SAPSUCKER, RED WINGED BLACKBIRDS, AMERICAN SONG SPARROWS, EVENING GROSBEAKS, BAND TAILED PIGEON, AND RUFFED GROUSE ( heard only ). Later I had to go into work, and on the way home, I stopped at the Cheam Wetlands. The most interesting bird I could round up here was an AMERICAN GOLDFINCH, hanging out with some HOUSE FINCHES, by the first bridge on the loop trail. Also seen were RED WINGED BLACKBIRDS, MARSH, AND WINTER WREN, AMERICAN ROBIN, NORTHERN FLICKER, AMERCAN SONG SPARROW, MALLARDS, CANADA GEESE, RING NECKED DUCKS, a TRUMPETER SWAN, and BUFFLEHEADS. No TREE SWALLOWS yet, which seems a bit late. Thor
