I went for a stroll tonight around the wetlands loop and saw the usual species. I was surprised at seeing more than half a dozen Wood Ducks. It was nice to hear the Marsh Wrens who are making a racket these days. You can see them fairly easily as the cattails have not thickened up yet. I good time for good views. Here are a few more random pictures. Lots of Tree Swallows and I heard/saw a hummingbird wizz by full speed. Happy Birding! Dave

Nice report and pictures! Thanks!
Ive actually been in your area recently. It's pretty easy to figure out which house is yours by all the bird activity to your feeders. Sounds like you have quite a few evening grosbeaks by the sounds of it. Eating you out of house and home I expect. ;D

2:40, I actually do not get to see that many of my backyard visitors as on a typical day I leave before the action and come home to late to see anything. I do not always know who is enjoying the seed, just a bunch of empty shells left to let me know it was appreciated. My wife usually spots the more unusual species, like the Pileated Woodpecker pounding on a stump in the yard in the middle of the day! She usually lets me know what is coming to the feeders and then I have to wait for a week or two before I see my first of the year. (The goldfinches or hummingbirds, for example). It is a great lesson in patience.
