This morning I was delighted to hear a Grey Catbird singing over the sounds of excited school children. They enjoyed listening to it and loved hearing a few 'meows' it made. This was on the Loop Trail just past the Bear In Area sign. Later at lunch it was singing and made a brief appearance in its usual location up in the picnic area.
Great to have them back again for another year! ;D
Ok, off I go again to taxi children to their respective events. How does Kev say it? Stolen Moment Birding? I like it! Actually, the only kind of birding I can get in of late. ;D Family comes first and I dont mind it a bit.

On my way to the gym this morning I made a large detour (probably about a 25 minute) to Cheam to see if the Catbird was there and he was. He always seems to pick an area where branches are blocking him so I didn't get a picture.

The catbird serenaded me this afternoon at Cheam. It sang pretty much non-stop or at least was singing each time I was near the picnic area. Got a quick glimpse of it at one point but he is pretty sneaky. Yellow Warbler and Black-headed Grosbeak provided some colour.
