One day I need to borrow dad's boat (and a GPS!) and plenty of gas and give it a whirl! One day is a key word.  ;D Good list of birds. Glad Russ got some new ones. |

Great report, watchmen! The Pink-footed Shearwaters would be new for me, and if that Jaeger was a Pomarine, that would be new too!
I would love to see any shearwaters again. Thanks for the invite for future trips.

Hi Wathcmen: Nice report on your pelagic.
You are to be commended for organizing these trips. It's a great opportunity for B.C. birders to get out " on the chuck ", to see what's there. I'll spread the word here in the Okanagan, as I am sure Russ Cannings will. Look forward to heading out on one of your trips in the fall. I've got to find a Black-legged Kittiwake somewhere in this province, and a South Polar Skua also wouldn't go astray!
BTW, nice find on the kite.
Any Fraser Valley Birder that needs a tour guide for the South Okanagan, feel free to get in touch. Just remember my knowledge of the area is still a work in progress.

Watchmen, amen to the paucity of Flesh-footed shear's. Like Thor, I've done quite a few pelagics and have seen all but the super-rare.
the Flesh-footed is the only one I need big time!
If you can come up with several of those at a time, that is just amazing.

Of the 12 birds mentioned, 11 would be lifers for me!
I've thought, a few boat trips on Harrison Lake might yield some surprises...

Great report! The only coastal birding I have done is down on the Oregon Coast (and the birding I did down there was very casual). Brown Pelicans are a gimme there and if you find a jetty Surfbirds are common as well. All of those would be BC lifers for me and besides the Surfbird and Brown Pelican they would be lifers.
Out of curiosity how long was the trip? A day or more?
