Debated about going for my usual walk since it is so horrible over here, pouring with rain with gobs of wet snow mixed in - decided to go anyway - could see what looked like a couple of birds sitting on the top of one of the old pilings at EaglePoint Park - checked them out - a couple of Western Meadowlark!
The Greater Yellowlegs was also there, in the open bay area and there were a number of Killdeer as well.

Hi all, I saw a Western Meadowlark today at the Chilliwack UCFV campus. It was in a field between A.D. Rundle school and the UCFV campus. First one I've seen in Chilliwack this year. Jeff

The meadowlark was last year.....haven't seen one yet this year, but the White Throated Sparrow was a bonus. Have also had a Blue Heron, up close and personal....it has discovered the fish ponds in our complex! My neighbours have now protected their ponds with netting but hey, Heron's have to eat too.....so if it wants to eat the fish in my pond...feel free (besides we're moving soon and the fish can't come with us since we have no water feature at the new place - yet! Also had a Sharp Shin Hawk dive bomb my patio yesterday...and sent all the sparrows scattering.
