I headed to grasslands near Kamloops for a day of birding to find Sharp-tailed Grouse. We didn't find them this time, but 67 birds were on the count for the day(East of the Coq toll booth). Nine Raptors, including 2 Swainson's, and a Golden Eagle. Many ducks including lots of Redheads and many beautiful Ruddy Ducks on the wetland area just past Nicola lake. An American White Pelican looking out of place(same marsh). Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs. My son who lives in Kamloops saw several large flocks of Sandhill cranes(45 plus) winging there way over the area on Sunday April 18th. Ed

Ed, thanks for sharing. Too bad you missed the grouse, but not bad other birds spotted. Great place to bird. It has been years since I last was up there. Look forward to going again one day.
