Watchmen, if you park your car right by the bridge at Silver Creek, you can walk down the west dyke along-side the creek. this will lead you to a nice trail that by-passes the treatment plant. At that point you will have good views of the water. If you carry on it will eventually lead you out to the Fraser.
My fishing friends and I used to fish for steelhead through that stretch since the mid 70's. Unfortunately, the habitat wasn't protected and the fish are now long gone. However it's still a lovely walk for birding and an escape from the madness of the nearby highways!
BTW, nice find on the Mountain Chickadee.
