went to my favourite dipper spot to add it to my winter list. It is at the road and RR bridge that crosses the Hawkins-Pickle Road east of Mission. Found a Dipper swimming in the middle of the river (something I had not seen before). I also saw a large flock of S. Jays (18) and a Merlin. Happy birding, I'm off to San Diego and Salton Sea area tomorrow. John Vooys
