Took the boys to Sardis Pond for a little walk. Here we saw an American goldfinch, 5 double-crested cormorants among others. At first I thought I heard a pine siskin when the goldfinch twittered a little bit. It was windy, so we didnt stay long. (Cormorant digiscoped) At home, a yellow-rumped warbler flew over us making its distinctive call. Later that day on my way home with the baby I stopped to check the large flock of swans on Hopedale Rd. I counted 27 tundra swans and over 30 trumpeter! Even more interesting over the good number of tundra swans was one bird that had a TON of yellow on its beak. More than Ive ever seen on a tundra! Worth a much closer look to see if it's a Bewick's swan!! I handbombed a couple pictures through the scope from the car window which turned out ok considering no tripod!
