Went out to the Lagoon again to see if I could spot the Snow Bunting. I have been unsuccessful three or four times. In the lagoon were two Rudy Ducks, two Hooded Mergansers and of course Canada Geese, Mallards and American Wigeons. On the lake there were six Ring-necked Ducks and joining them were two Lesser Scaups, one Common Merganser and one Canvasback. A Horned Grebe swam close by. I checked along the shore where Dave spotted the Bunting but he wasn't there. He also wasn't near the bench as well. Walking east along the Lagoon I spotted a seal, I assume a Harbour Seal. He was splashing around. Also on the lake were four White-winged Scoters, a Red-necked Grebe and four Buffleheads. Coming back on the northeast side of the lagoon I spotted something different flying. It turned out to be the bunting! Such a beautiful bird and very tame. Here's a picture of it.

Nice one Chris! It is a beauty.
Yes, I think they are harbour seals, they show up every year at this time following the salmon. In the morning, adults and juvies are often to the east, on the log breakwater by the marinas.
