This morning (Tuesday Oct. 13) I finally managed to get away to look for the McCown's Longspur that Len reported and photographed a couple of days ago.
Luckily for us, it returned from some other location just as we arrived in Stanley Park's Coal Harbour area. It is probably as tame as a wild bird can be. Photo op's abound!
Then on to UBC's Museum of Anthropology where a Lark Bunting was also seen a couple of days ago. Not so lucky this time. The bird was last seen briefly Sunday morning and seems to have moved on.
Although I have seen both species elsewhere it's always a kick to get another one for the B.C. list.

Murray and Len, glad you guys got the McCown's Longspur. What a great bird for the area! Too bad on the bunting. Got to save one for next time!
