Thought Id share a couple showing each species. The difference is subtle but the amount of white around the eye including the lores (bit between the eye and bill) and a brighter yellow bill are the field marks to watch for for it to be a Clark's Grebe. Western Grebes have dark extending below the eye, on the lores and the bill is more of an olive yellow. Clark's Grebe Western Grebes
