Hi all: For those that may not follow bcintbird, and who might be planning a trip to the Okanagan in the not too distant future, interestingly, the annual Lesser Black-backed Gull(s) has already returned to the Okanagan. Russell Cannings found it on Tuesday at Robert Lake in Kelowna, and I relocated it at the same spot today. I had to go for it just because it was such a jinx bird for me when I was living on the Coast; ( I drove the Coq. over 3 successive Novembers before finally finding the bird ). Today's find was surprisingly easy; ( maybe things have a way of evening out ). I did, however, spend 10 minutes scoping the gull flock before it finally popped out from the group, where it was partially hidden. If anyone wants to go for it, Robert Lake is accessible off highway 97 in North Kelowna. You just look for Sexsmith, turn west, and then north on Curtis. Curtis will take you right to Robert Lake. This morning the bird didn't hang around that long; I saw it at 7:50 a.m., and it was gone by 8:10. heading, I think, towards the local dump. Cheers, Thor

Thor, amazing it is back. And if not the same bird, arguably even more amazing that it is a different one!
Thanks for the heads up and good directions. Myself, I am going to have to wait to see one in a flock down here. I just know one's going to show one day! ;D
