This morning walking down the Loop Trail I heard the 'Che-BEK! Che-BEK! Che-BEK!' call of a Least Flycatcher. This was right when you get into the trees and before the junction of the trail. Nice to see they are back after a couple year absence from the Park. Kevin had them last year in Agassiz which was great!

I have been listening for one for about a week now and studying their call online. Great find as usual Gord.

Just an update. I did see both of them right where Gord described. I can see where they get their name from because they are slightly smaller than any other of the flycatchers we see here.
The catbird was also singing there as well.

Two Least Flycatchers were calling on the Creek Trail of the park today. None were heard at the original location, but in the heat, they/it might just be lying low.
