Yay, nesting swallows, anti sparrow hole works!

Last week a pair of Violet-green Swallows started to put material into the box in our yard. We're all very excited. I like how the sparrows are excluded but the swallows can get in. (see article below)

I've been hesitant, cause I've such a battle with starlings and squirrels in my Wood Duck boxes. I've been thinking about swallow boxes. Skitters are comin', and I need all the help from bug eatin' critters that I can get...
