An excellent question/suggestion was recently made about putting together a list that not only shows what is rare and what isnt, but what time of year something might be more 'interesting' than others. For example, a Tree Swallow in June isnt worth more than a beautiful sight. But seeing one in November is a completely different story. There are many species that fit in this category. A possible solution is the season status checklist. Converted to a .PDF the status bars dont line up on certain zoom levels (it pains a perfectionist to no end) but otherwise they are fairly accurate based on the current information. There are a couple of wayward bars in the gull section too but it is apparent on a closer look that they dont belong. Ill see about addressing these next update. In the meantime, feel free to save a copy to your computer or to print a hardcopy. fraservalleybirding.com/Maps%20and%20Checklists/Seasonal%20Status.htm
