Janne, glad you found the Horned Grebe! The Ruby-crowned Kinglet is a good find. Probably an overwinter bird as the main migration of them happens in April. Could be an early one though. All the same, good find.
Had a female Brown-headed Cowbird in a flock of starlings and other blackbirds today.

Hello Birders
Last night, March 8th, as I was getting some firewood, I heard a NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL calling close by our yard.

Quite a number of diving and dabbling ducks at the Harrison Lake Lagoon this afternoon including a single Ruddy Duck. I don't believe it has made the list yet.

A friend of mine who is not really a birder (Im working on that) but is very observant and appreciative of nature saw a Green Heron from the dyke at the south end of Lickman Road in Chilliwack on the 13th in the salmon rearing ponds. I have seen them there during the winter past years and was not surprised to hear his report. Great sighting for March!
A Rufous Hummingbird cant be far away! How about a Tundra Swan? The ones around Chilliwack and Cheam Lake all seem to be Trumpeter Swans. Maybe Kilby has some yet? Wonder if anyone has Anna's Hummingbirds lately as well.

Rufous Hummingbird cannot be far behind!
