Two female Buffleheads and one female Common Goldeneye in between them. They could be immature males but this time of year I think males would display some intermediate male plumage. All belong to the Goldeneye family and are diving ducks that nest in tree cavities or made made nesting boxes. Both dive under water to feed on mollusks, crustaceans and aquatic insects. Buffleheads also take small fish. Try this link for more online info on Buffleheads: www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/BirdGuide/Bufflehead.html and this one for the Common Goldeneye: www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/BirdGuide/Common_Goldeneye.htmlNice photo.
