Nice to see a well organized birding forum for the Fraser Valley. On my usual run around the perimeter of the Hope airport, noticed a number of Yellow-rumped Warblers. Most were on the ground, and were feeding by jumping/flying up, and catching insects on the wing. Haven't seen this kind of behaviour before from this species. On another somewhat unrelated topic, I am reading Stuart Mclean's Home from the Vinyl Cafe. There is a short story called Burd, which is an amusing rendition of what can happen to your backyard if you should happen to discover a rare bird at your feeder, and you decide to spread the word. Maybe Jason will get in a few copies. Thor Manson Hope, B.C.

Neat observation on the feeding yellow-rumps. Ive seen them hawking insects from low branches, but never from the ground itself! Neat o!
