On the way home from the no-show at the Hope airport . We pulled of the highway at Popkum to check a field of swans for the possibility of a Tundra. A little closer look rewarded us with these! This was the second life bird of the trip (see post in 'Harrison Lagoon). It was a great day for a short but productive birding trip! Bill

Bill, a nice record! Where there more than eight? Not often does one encounter more than a single bird among Canada and Cackling Geese in the winter around here. Great stuff!

There were eight. The story behind it is that as we were driving I was looking through the guide and said I would like to find a Greater White-fronted Goose because they were seen in this area! When we got out to look for the Tundra swan I looked over them in my haste to check out the swans. Dad saw them and the swans lost our intrest! ;D ;D We did check out the swans, there were probably 35 Trumpeters.
