Happy New Years Everyone!!! I went to Banff for a few days over the holidays. It was very beautiful...love it there, but the climate was COLD and WINDY. I did go for a few hikes, but there didn't seem to be much bird activity. I did see Boreal Chickadee, Northern Shrike, American Dipper and Townsend's Solitaire amoung other more common species. I was quite amused and interested as I watched three american dippers fishing in a stream and chattering away quite actively. I got my first photos of a townsends solitaire and I must say they are quite the beautiful bird. Anyhow, here's a few pictures. Hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

John, nice shot of the Solitaire.
Those Dippers in action always make me feel cold!
Boreal Chickadee is always a nice sight.
Thanks for sharing!
