Hi, I saw this bird at White Rock earlier this week. I am thinking that it is a Black bellied plover. The main reason that I think this is because it had a very distinct white rump when it flew away. I did not look for black under the wings ( You learn as you go.....) :)Any other thoughts??

Bill, I would also say Black-bellied Plover because it looks like one in the pictures and that golden plovers are pretty rare in the winter (but anything is possible!) ;D
Good spot on the white rump/tail. A good fieldmark.
