Motivated by Ryan's recent find, I went out for a little birding this morning. I planned to hit some out of the way corners of Chilliwack to see what was along the quiet roads. Lots of birds, nothing too exciting outside of a Tundra Swan with a neck collar (P802 I believe). Near the end I found this guy at the corner of McGuire and Prest Roads. It's a Red-tailed Hawk, but not quite like one Ive seen before! Actually, I think last year Thor and Murray found an interesting hawk but not sure if the same bird or not. I looked through the guides at all the subspecies of Red-tailed Hawk but best I can come up with is an intergrade between two or something. I think it's an adult bird. What does anyone else think?

Gord, have you considered a Harlan's form of Red-tailed? Not a perfect specimen, but that tail.............
