Look what we had at our feeder last night ;D ;D ;D OK.... I seem to be having issues with Photobucket again. Gord maybe you can retrieve the picture and get it posted here??? It was a flying Squirrel! They are supposed to eat fungi, mushrooms and lichen....apparently they also eat Black Oil Sunflower seeds. It spent over an hour at the feeder. Kathy

What a cute little guy! So hard to see too, how lucky to get to see one. I bet it will come often now that it has got a taste for sunflowers!
Thanks for sharing. Ive only ever seen a couple and once was during a school project were we caught one, tagged it and released it. Those big eyes and fuzzy grey body are pretty endearing!

Kathy: I read an article on these squirrels somewhere, recently. I guess they are mostly nocturnal, and I think I already knew they are a staple part of the Spotted Owls' diet. So, keep an eye open for this mega super rarity, although the article I read on them seemed to state that their breeding areas in B.C. are restricted to two general sites. Cheers, Thor

You are right Gord....this little guy has been here almost every night since the first night. Twice he has completely emptied out the feeder. We suspect there is more than one but have only seen one at a time. No spotted owls yet Thor Kathy
