Hi All- We just saw an actual Blue Jay. It's been visiting my feeder ever since I put out sunflower seeds this morning. Managed to take a few photos which I'll post on Monday from work (better connection).
Oh and the first Double-crested Cormorant flew in on Wed. the 15th.
Lots of Osprey activity on the waterfront and the Bald Eagle numbers are increasing.
As for the October Bird List, please add Three-toed Woodpecker at Manning on Oct. 11th.

Deb: Great sighting. Might be the first one reported from Hope. Interesting you are still seeing Osprey. They appear to have departed from the Coquihalla R. some time ago. Wonder if yours' are coming from elsewhere. Cheers, Thor

Here are a few photos of the Blue Jay who, in just a few hours, cached the entire contents of the feeder he's on. Deb

Excellent sighting. You sure do get some great birds at your place! I had to drive all the way to Dawson Creek for my first B.C. Blue Jay. All you have to do is look out your window!

Fantastic! At this rate, you'll be getting rare Eastern feeder birds every winter! (White-breasted Nuthatch last year).
Great photos!

Hello Deb I was wondering if the Blue Jay is coming to your yard still and if you are open to me coming up to see this bird. You can email me privately at raven01@uniserve.com with your phone number if you are interested.
Thanks, Jason
