We had a yellow-shafted flicker at our suet feeder, on Chilliwack River Rd, this morning. It's been a few years since I last saw one.

Hi! I have not seen one for a little while either. Great bird at the feeder. Thanks for sharing!
Do you get many flickers at your feeders? I sometimes get one at mine.

We usually have a few flickers during most of the year, except for midsummer. They come in from the cottonwoods along Chilliwack River. The yellow-shafted visited the suet feeder several times yesterday and again this morning. When we lived in Surrey, we had them several times over a period of 20+ years. The year following their appearance, we would have hybrids around. Marilynt

I get them here in Langley regularly, however the red shafted seem to be more common

I agree, Steffy. My experience is I seem to see yellow-shafted ones in bunches for a little bit then back to red-shafted ones. I dont have good flicker numbers at my feeders like you guys though so Im probably not in a good position to see them as regularly.
