When I went for my mid day walk noticed a male Northern Flicker at one of the Fifth Wheels parked in here. The windows of that unit are mirrored and the bird was hanging onto the window ledge and pecking at the window, all the while muttering away to itself. I watched for quite some time, he would go from window to window. Went for my walk and when I got back it was still doing it. I know Robins and Chickadees will do this in the spring when the hormones get rolling but I've never known a Flicker to do it and it is October....not spring!
Saw the first Salmon making it way past Eagle Point this morning. It didn't get far....a Gull was waiting in the shallow area (and it is really shallow right now), so the Salmon ended up being breakfast.

That's an interesting observation, Kathy. Ive never seen them do that, even in the middle of breeding season either!
Look forward to the eagles showing up in numbers out there.
