A thought open for discussion and input.
Our area, when it comes to monthly lists, checklists, 'local birding' and etc follows the FVRD boundary. The eastern boundary ends around Manning Park just west of the Lodge. Part of the Lighting Lakes are included in what's a pretty erratic boundary line in this area which makes it difficult to determine where one is when birding that area which is a popular birding area.
I wonder if including the whole of Manning Park makes sense for two (or maybe more) reasons: 1) Almost half the park is already in the area 2) It will remove any question of what's in or out of the checklist area
Is this a good idea? I think the rest of the boundary lines, given their location, will be ok so we only need to consider this bit.

I am in favour of the small modification, simply for the reason that the habitat is fairly consistent through out the area. This way it is clear for all that the boundary up Hwy 3 is "up to and including Manning Park". A nice definitive marker. Hwy 5 is "up to the toll booth". Another nice definitive marker. This brings up the question, where is the line drawn up Hwy 1's canyon?
Just my thoughts,
Dave

Dave, the line is well to the east of the canyon by several Km's.
Manning Park is now included in the 'checklist area'.
