I saw a pretty Lincoln Sparrow and a scolding Bewicks Wren in Matsqui Prairie.

We saw a family of Brown Creepers today at the GBHNR Also saw what we think is a Swamp Sparrow, a few photos will be on our website journal for today later this evening.

Congrats on a nice Swamp Sparrow!!! Excellent find! A good rarity for the area. Where abouts was it in the park? Im certainly interested to go see it. 20 plus Meadowlarks and a fat Peregrine Falcon over Whatcom Road were seen in Sumas Prairie this morning.

The swamp sparrow was on the Salwein Creek Loop pathway in the marshy area near the bridge closest to the dyke road.

Lots of updates! Good birds everyone. We're sure hurting on warblers though! If it wasnt for Bruce and Joanne and their Orange-crowned Warbler sighting, we'd be at Yellow-rumped Warbler! Wow, just updated the list and we got 37 new species in the last five days! (make that 38...missed the Brown Creepers!) p.s. Oh man...always finding more...the first of the fall Double-crested Cormorants were sighted by Bruce and Joanne on the 8th. That's 39 species (at the moment!)

With Gord's intelligent help for identification we can now say that we spotted a Bonaparte's Gull in non-breeding plummage at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve today. Thanks Gord!
