This morning, in a backyard on Topaz Street in Abbotsford, under a nyjer feeder (does all this sound familiar?), foraging on the grass, was a tan-striped morph White-throated Sparrow (WTSP). Nice way to start the October list.
We had a tan-striped WTSP last fall, for a couple of days at the end of November, and we had a white-striped morph WTSP for a month in March and April 2008. They must like our yard.
